Istituto Toscano Tumori (ITT) has been established by Regione Toscana to conduct fundamental, clinical and translational research on cancer and to provide state-of-the-art treatment for all individuals with cancer in Tuscany. The Institute consists of the sum total of all oncology services and cancer research activities in the Region, which are part of a single network. In this frame, Regione Toscana also created a “Core Research Laboratory” whose Units are located in Firenze, Siena and Pisa and conduct innovative research aiming to understand the nature and the mode of cancer development, to be able to rationally design specific therapeutic strategies to best manage cancer disease.
