Ceren Gül
Ceren Gül graduated from Gaziosmanpaşa University with a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics, completing her thesis on multiepitope neoantigen DNA vaccine as a new approach in cancer immunotherapy in 2019. In June 2023, Ceren received her master’s degree in the Department of Biotechnology at Ege University, where she conducted experimental thesis work within the Ege University Vaccine Development, Application, and Research Center, under the supervision of Prof. Mert Döşkaya. Her thesis project focused on the development of a DNA vaccine strategy effective against all three stages of Toxoplasma gondii. During my master’s degree, Ceren worked on different projects aimed at developing DNA vaccines against viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza, and recombinant protein vaccines against HPV and T. gondii. Additionally, she participated in projects to develop rapid diagnostic kits for parasitic diseases. Since November 2023, Ceren held a PhD fellowship at the University of Siena and joined the MAD Lab at Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences (TLS), with Rino Rappuoli as scientific coordinator and Claudia Sala as manager, to work on the ShiMabs project, which aims to accelerate the development of monoclonal antibodies and vaccines against different strains of Shigella.
